The exhibition design for ceramicist Lisa Larson is built around one central idea: the pale blue sky as a backdrop. A monochromatic field of soft, extra matte blue brings together the entire spatial composition, creating a calm and consistent ground against which the varied clays and glazes of Larson's work can be read clearly.

The display elements, pedestals, podia and shelving units, take their formal references from classical Greek temple architecture, with the Acropolis as the primary source of inspiration. Columns, entablatures and structural volumes are simplified and translated into straightforward pine constructions, all painted in the same characteristic matte blue. The result is a coherent and quietly monumental setting that frames each ceramic object with care.

The design operates both as a curatorial tool and as a spatial narrative, placing Larson's handmade work in dialogue with one of the most enduring traditions in Western architecture. The use of pine keeps this reference grounded and honest, reflecting the same material directness found in Larson's own practice.

The exhibition has been presented at Vandalorum and at Rian in Falkenberg.
