Niche Club Chair was developed by TAF Studio in collaboration with Fogia for a specific commission: the curved alcoves of the restaurant at Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, a Venetian-inspired building dating from 1866. Designed to inhabit the rounded recesses of the dining room, the original context remains legible in the finished piece.

The chair is a reinterpretation of the classic club chair typology. The tall, tufted back sweeps in a semicircle around the seat, referencing the curved geometry of its intended setting while maintaining a contemporary formal language. Traditional upholstery techniques are employed throughout, with the characteristic button detailing of the typology replaced by stitching. The piece operates across register, familiar in reference and precise in execution.
